When we moved to St. Paul, I didn’t have high expectations. I thought I was leaving behind my “forever home” in North Carolina. But, I was struck almost instantly by the warmth and kindness of the neighborhood in which I live. Just a day or so after moving here, parked in front of our house were four giant moving containers…we spent a decent amount of time staring at said containers, willing them to unpack themselves. Alas, that plan didn’t work, so we had to unpack them the good ‘ole fashioned way. And, on a bright and warm August afternoon, Laura and her husband, their brand new baby, and two adorable pups walked by.
And, sure enough, in Minnesota Nice fashion, they stopped to say hello and welcome us to the neighborhood 🙂
I’ve gotten to know Laura really well since then–we’ve taken a few strolls for coffee (before the weather turned our neighborhood into what I can only assume to be a sub-artic tundra). We’re even in a local (and fabulous) book club together.
Our first attempt to capture little Miss Violet’s three month pictures went great!! And by great, I mean…for all of about 10 minutes. The rest of the time…there were tears. We tried again a few weeks later, and more happiness!!!
But, seriously, look at this face. Could she BE anymore adorable? Even the crying picture…oh lawd, I love a good crying picture…they crack me up every time!
I’m so grateful we live in such a great place, with great people….and adorable babies 🙂
