Rana and I met in the oddest of ways.
Long story short, we both follow a very well-known photographer on Facebook. Said photographer posted a photo from a session she’d done of a nursing mother and babe. Rana commented on the photo–noting she wished said photographer would come to Minnesota to take pictures of her nursing her son.
And, in I walked.
I was still new here…I think I’d been here a week at the time? But I messaged her. And I offered–though knowing I couldn’t fill said photographer’s shoes–to take photos of her nursing her son.
What started out as a short message from what probably seemed like a weirdo internet creeper (me) has turned into a wonderful friendship that I am so lucky to have.
I’m so very proud of this session. Everything I had in my head came to a reality through these shots–and, that’s a big deal for me. I’m also very proud to have been able to capture a mother nursing her son. I am a huge breastfeeding advocate; I nursed my own son for 19 months, and donated well over 500 ounces of breastmilk to premature babies. So, ya, big advocate here.
Love getting to finally show off the rest of this session! Thank you, Rana, for not running away screaming when this weirdo internet creeper messaged you 😉
Love it! Thanks lady! So glad to call you my (talented) friend!
